Original and rare signed Charlotte Rhead Persian Rose Double Handled Vase.

There are two distinct colourways for Persian Rose. The original version has yellow handles and edges and then, sometime later, a variation with green handles and edges was developed. Most examples are of the yellow border type and occur with backstamp AGR2 although it has been seen unsigned with AGR5 so may have been reintroduced after Charlotte left Richardsons. The majority of the green variation type were produced after Charlotte had left and have backstamps AGR5 and AGR3 and are unsigned – usually on modern shaped pieces. However, signed examples have been seen with AGR2 and these are rarer than the yellow type – which is the case  with this particular vase – making it a rare example.

Height just under 7.5 inches (19cm)  / 15.5 inches (39 cm) around excluding handles (pictured with a standard AA battery to give an idea as to size)

In very good condition for its age. Colours are very vibrant and crisp. Feint age related crazing. Feint hairline to rim extending just under 1 inch which neither detracts nor is very visible.
